學校簡介 About Us

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) is a research university with a long and proud history. First established as the Preparatory School of Studying Abroad to America at Tsing Hua Garden in Beijing in 1909, and then renamed as Tsing Hua Academy in 1911. The Academy was renamed again as National Tsing Hua University in 1928 when it launched 4-year programs.
NTHU was reinstated in Taiwan in 1956 by the original President Yi-Chi Mei (1889-1962) with the support of the Tsing Hua Foundation. Over the last sixty years, NTHU has developed from an institute focusing on nuclear science and technology to an institute that offers degree programs ranging from baccalaureate to doctorate in the fields of science, technology, engineering, humanities, social sciences, management, arts, as well as education.
NTHU provides a stimulating and nurturing environment within which our faculty can offer quality teaching and conduct innovative research. Regarded as one of the top research universities, our research and development activities across the University emphasize fundamental discoveries at the forefronts of basic sciences and exploration of breakthrough technologies with a high potential for applications. These can be reflected from our publication in the world's preeminent journals, awarded international patents, and technology transfer cases.

Credit Fee/Per(only for graduate student) TWD 2,100 – 8,000
＊Other expenses
Textbook : TWD 5,000 – 10,000 / per semester
Dormitory Fee : TWD 9,280 – 27,800 / per semester
Living expense : TWD 8,000 – 15,000/ per month

NTHU International Student Scholarship
  • TYPE A : payment+ Tuition and Credit fee waived
    • Doctoral students: TWD 20,000~40,000  per month
    • Master students: NTD 5,000 per month or NTD 60,000 per year
    • Bachelor students: NTD 5,000 per month or NTD 60,000 per year
  • TYPE B : Tuition and Credit fee waived

*Scholarships are renewed every year, based on merit. The applicant should re-apply each year.

    TWD 30,000 per month
  • Ministry of Science and Technology:
    TWD 30,000 per month
  • Ministry of Education
    • Doctoral students:
      TWD 20,000 per month
    • Master students:
      TWD 20,000 per month
    • Bachelor students:
      TWD 15,000 per month
    • MOE will pay up to NTD40,000 each semester for each recipient's approved tuition, the remaining amount must be paid by the student.

Taiwan Embassy or Taipei Economic and Cultural Office

Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Scholarship
  • Doctoral students:
    TWD 17,000 per month
  • Master students:
    TWD 15,000 per month
  • Bachelor students:
