About us

University of Taipei was established in 1895. It is the oldest public university in Taiwan. It is also the only university affiliated to Taipei City, the capital of Taiwan. We have two campuses: Bo-Ai Campus and Tian-Mu Campus. Bo-Ai Campus is located in the center of Taipei City, which is also a political center of Taiwan. Tian-Mu Campus is very close to Yangmingshan National Park, which provide good resources for our students to explore.

MoU, Exchange Student, Dual-degree

The purposes of the MoU, Exchange Student program and Dual-degree program are to promote academic exchange and international understanding by supporting intercultural activities between students of UT and our partner institutions. We have 194 partner universities in Asia Pacific, America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. UT would like to enrich its students’ understanding of different education systems as well as foreign cultures and it is a good opportunity for our students experiencing the education, culture and life when attending the student mobility programs.

Study Abroad/Winter Camp

UT offers diversified programs and even customizes courses and activities to meet the needs of students who attend study abroad programs or summer/winter camps. Those students will enjoy learning basic Chinese language, experiencing Chinese and Taiwanese cultures, and taking field trips to Taipei 101, night markets, the National Palace Museum, the Lungshan Temple of Manka, Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, and Beitou Hot Springs.

系所介紹 Academics

UT offers programs in 27 departments and 25 graduate schools of 5 colleges. We seek to cultivate students’ abilities in one of the following fields: Education, Humanities & Arts, Science, Kinesiology, and City Management.

College of Education, College of Humanities and Arts, and College of Science are in the Bo-Ai Campus.

College of Education is an integral part of the University of Taipei. Continuously recognized as one of Taiwan’s top teacher training institutes, the College of Education continues to be a center for innovative research, teaching, and service projects of local, national, and international interest.

College of Humanities and Arts aims to excel in the study of languages, social sciences, as well as visual and performing arts. The vision is to become one of the most renowned centers of learning in Asia in research on humanities and arts, especially in research related to Chinese culture, languages, and elementary school teacher training. It also works towards developing cross-disciplinary initiatives to enhance dialogues and collaboration across humanities, arts and other fields of knowledge.

College of Science has applied much of their efforts to planning and updating the laboratories and other research facilities/equipment of their departments, and has thus created a very capable assemblage of science and technology education, research, and guidance for students. In the near future, the departments plan to coordinate with enterprises and also develop international cooperation. The departments are also actively involved in forming expert teams for scientific and technological education and research.

College of Kinesiology and College of City Management are in the Tian-Mu Campus. College of Kinesiology provides high-level training for students specialized in sports, aiming to develop elite athletes and coaches, PE teachers at all levels of schools, and researchers in kinesiology. College of City Management has been devoted to urban industrial management & marketing, health & welfare, and urban development, serving as a bridge between the central and local governments and as a think tank for the governments on urban and rural planning.
