Chang Gung University (CGU), a contemporary and research-directed university with entrepreneurial spirits, was established by the founding Wang family of the Formosa Plastics Group in the northern Taiwan. CGU is highly ranked globally in the QS World Universities Rankings 2023, and in the top 5 among the 151 universities in Taiwan. Tuition fees in CGU vary depending on the level of the student’s degree and the year of study. International students (including overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland Chinese students) are charged the same amount as domestic students.

An academic year contains two semesters, and each semester contains 18 weeks. All fees are paid in New Taiwan Dollars (NTD). Here are the tuition fees for 4 colleges:

• College of Medicine: full tuition-waiver~122,167 NTD/year 
• College of Engineering: 89,181~ 151,968 NTD/year 
• College of Management: 77,624~91,396/year 
• College of Intelligent Computing: 89,182~91,396/year
• For Ph.D. students, the tuition fee will be waived from the third academic year, only pay for credit fee 3,813 (NTD/per semester).

CGU provides a variety of scholarships for international degree students, including Master’s and Doctoral Scholarships and Grants for International Students, Academic Scholarship for Outstanding Students (Undergraduate Programs) and teaching/research assistant opportunities.

Master's Program Scholarships for International Students

• Number of places：25
• The award (based on a 2-year maximum) includes:
  • An amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
  • Free on-campus accommodation
  • Monthly stipend: NT$6,000
  • Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month

Doctoral Program Scholarships for International Students (2022-2023 intake)

• Number of places：50
• The award (based on a 4-year maximum) includes:
  • Monthly stipend: NT$30,000
  • Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month

In addition to scholarships offered by CGU, all the applicants may also apply for Taiwan Scholarship offered by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan.

Accommodation Fee Reduction or Exemption:

International students (master degree students only; students on exchange or short-term visit are excluded) are eligible for fee waiver or reduction for accommodation in on-campus dormitories.
