YDU was solely founded and financed by Dr. Kwang-Ya Wang and his wife in 1999. With more than 60 years of educational experiences coupled with his lofty ideal of fostering first-class professionals in the field of business, management, and language in Taiwan, Dr. Wang came to choose the campus at a scenic village in Chaochiao Township, Miaoli County to start fulfilling his great aspiration of establishing one of the most exquisite, excellent universities in Taiwan.

Dormitory fee: The accommodation fee for one semester is NTD9,000 , and the air-conditioning and electricity fee is NTD 500 (settled at the end of the semester, refund will be given for the use less than NTD 500 and compensation will be needed for the use more than NTD 500)

New international students’ medical insurance: NTD3,000 for the first semester)

全民健保費用(抵臺滿6個月後)

National Health Insurance(NHI): NTD4,956 / semester (starting from the second semester)

1. Each country provides 10 quotas for the tuition-free recipients for the first year.
   • Should obtain the Level-3 of the Test of Chinese as Foreign Language (TOCFL)
   • Should pay the medical insurance or National Health Insurance premiums, accommodation fees, computer and internet fees, language internship fees, safety insurance premiums, and other related fees.
   • From the second to the fourth year, relevant fees shall be paid in accordance with the school's tuition and miscellaneous fees.
2. From the second to the fourth year, it is available to apply for the Overseas Student Scholarship.
