National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) was founded in 2000 to promote the balanced development of higher education in southern and northern Taiwan and to coordinate the government's industrial policy to the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Regional Operation Center. Therefore, NUK has a superb geographical location and is very close to the Science, Industrial, and Software Parks and public transportation, such as Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taiwan Railway, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations, and Kaohsiung International Airport. Surrounded by many important industry clusters, NUK has great geographical advantages in terms of research and academia industry development.
In the ranking results of “Best Young Universities 2019: Millennials” released by Times Higher Education (THE) from United Kingdom, NUK, ranked 56th globally, is the only national university from Taiwan. NUK earns MOE’s Five Year National Teaching Excellence Universities Funding since 2019, and links Higher Education Sprout Project with United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To promote our faith in sustainability, NUK signed the Talloires Declaration in 2004 and became the first university in Taiwan that got into UI Green Metric World University Rankings. NUK was elected as the "Model Green University" by the Ministry of Education in 2009. In 2010, NUK was awarded by the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan as one of the green schools that had great contributions in environmental protection.

NUK Foreign Student Scholarships
NUK offers students half or partial tuition and miscellaneous scholarships. To apply for NUK Scholarship, the application form is required to be uploaded as doing online application for admission. Student who needs to continue the scholarships, he/ she needs to apply again in the second academic year.

IMBA Assistantships
Only issued to the IMBA admitted students who have good academic performance in the previous school. Recipients need to offer administrative assistance to IMBA (International Master of Business Administration, a full English-taught master program). The evaluation and remittance is made by IMBA Office.

Dept. of Information Management Master Scholarships
The department provides scholarships NTD 60,000 (a monthly stipend of living allowance NTD 5,000*12 months) and assistantships to recruit foreign students with good English language ability.
