Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) was established in 1994 and located in central Taiwan, Taichung city. It consists of over 16,000 students, including 1,100 international students representing over 30 countries. The University has 6 colleges and 24 departments, offering 24 Bachelor’s, 22 Master's programs, and 5 Doctoral programs. 

Globalization is an inevitable phenomenon for us to re-consider the possibilities of individualism, free wills of labor ideology, and choices of personal life-style. In the era of Internet, the development of higher education in different countries deserve our scrupulous consideration of oceans of problems, such as how to promote and upgrade universities, how to create mutual communication among multi-cultural movements on the campus, how to incorporate professional cross-cultural outputs, and how to keep abreast of international tendency. After 28 years of endeavors, CYUT has grown up and has navigated toward a closer connection and link with internationalization.

Chaoyang University of Technology offers a variety of scholarships for international students and successful applicants will be eligible to award a full tuition waiver while studying at CYUT. CYUT Scholarship application and degree application are conducted together. There will be a checkbox in the application form within the degree application system. By ticking the checkbox, the application process for CYUT international scholarship will be completed.

CYUT scholarship schemes are merit-based scholarships. Applicants will be assessed by the CYUT Scholarship Committee based on the results of academic performance, extra-curricular achievements, and other relevant documents of their applications. CYUT reserves the right not to award scholarships if an applicant did not meet the criteria. The decision of the committee is final. Questions or negotiations regarding the decisions will not be responded.

Doctoral Degree
CYUT International Ph.D. Scholarship:
ELITE Scheme: Full Tuition Fee Waiver, Free CYUT Accommodation and Monthly Stipend of NT$ 10,000 up to four-years subject to academic performance, publication record and related outstanding achievements while registering as full-time CYUT students.
EXCELLENCE Scheme: Full Tuition Fee Waiver up to four-years subject to academic performance, publication record and related outstanding achievements while registering as full-time CYUT students.

Master’s Degree
CYUT International Master’s Scholarship
Successful applicants will be entitled to a Full Tuition Fee Waiver or 50% off of Tuition Fee Waiver up to two-years subject to academic results while registering as full-time CYUT students.

Bachelor’s Degree
CYUT International Bachelor’s Scholarship
Successful applicants will be entitled to a Full Tuition Fee Waiver or 50% off of Tuition Fee Waiver up to four-years subject to academic results study while registering as full-time students.

To apply for CYUT scholarships, applicants must specify in the application form and submit required documents to the Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation. Scholarship recipients have to meet the criteria for continuous scholarship. 

Doctoral Degree
ELITE Scheme
From the second academic year and onwards, the CYUT Scholarship Committee reviews students’ academic results for continuous scholarship every semester. Students have to issue one (1) publication/ article or above of Scopus journal or journals of equivalent levels as first author or correspondent author every academic year with the name of Chaoyang University of Technology. 

By the end of the third academic year, students have to submit a doctoral dissertation proposal and pass the review of the department or school, as well as the doctoral qualification examination to become a doctoral candidate.

Before applying the examination for the Ph.D. degree, students have to issue two (2) publications/articles or above of Scopus journal or journals of equivalent levels as the first author and the correspondent author every academic year with the name of Chaoyang University of Technology, and complying with the other academic requirements of the Ph.D. program.

If the student’s submitted materials do not meet the standard for the first time of review, the CYUT accommodation fee waiver will be deducted for the semester; if the student’s submitted materials do not meet the standard for the second time of review, the CYUT accommodation fee waiver and the NT$ 10,000 monthly stipend of the semester will be deducted; if the student’s submitted materials do not meet the standard for the third time of review, the CYUT accommodation fee waiver and the NT$10,000 monthly stipend of the semester will be deducted; besides, the full tuition fee waiver will be changed to half tuition fee waiver for the semester.

EXCELLENCE Scheme

From the second semester and onwards, the CYUT Scholarship Committee reviews students’ academic results for continuous scholarship every semester. Students have to achieve 82 points and above of the moral performance and the academic performance has to be ranked at top 25% in the department of the previous semester for a full tuition waiver, students have to be ranked between 26% and 50% in the department of the previous semester with 82 points and above of the moral performance for a 50% off of the tuition fee waiver. No scholarship will be entitled to those whose academic results were ranked at 51% and beyond.

Bachelor’s Degree
From the second semester and onwards, the CYUT Scholarship Committee reviews students’ academic results for continuous scholarship every semester. Students have to achieve 82 points and above of the moral performance and the academic performance has to be ranked at top 25% in the department of the previous semester for a full tuition waiver, students have to be ranked between 26% and 50% in the department of the previous semester with 82 points and above of the moral performance for a 50% off of the tuition fee waiver. No scholarship will be entitled to those whose academic results were ranked at 51% and beyond.
