Established in 1927, National Chengchi University (NCCU) cultivates best graduates for enterprises in Humanities, Law, Politics, and Business; alumni and faculty including national presidents and vice presidents of Taiwan, ROC, high government officials, and more than one hundred ambassadors. NCCU College of Commerce is the first Business School in Taiwan accredited with both AACSB and EQUIS and a member of Partnership in International Management (PIM).

Home to 16,000 students from more than 65 countries, NCCU offers degrees in Liberal Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Law, Commerce, Foreign Languages and Literature, Communication, International Affairs, Education, International College of Innovation, and Informatics. Over 600 English-taught courses and 7 international degree programs are offered to international students and more than 20 languages are taught at NCCU Foreign Language Center.

According to QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021, NCCU is placed top 150 in Politics and International Studies, Communication and Media Studies, and Modern Languages. NCCU is also ranked in the top 100 in QS Asia University Ranking for 5 consecutive years. Located in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan, NCCU is only 20 minutes away from Taipei 101 and Taipei City Center. Dormitories are available on campus. Bus station, city bike (U-bike), chained supermarket, convenience store, bank post and medical centre is just 1-minute walk from the main gate. Gym, pool, weight training room, sports courts, track and field, Art and Culture Center are also available for students to experience a diverse university life.

Undergraduate students

Tuition fee: NT$ 49,020 ~ NT$ 56,860/semester

Credit fee: NT$ 2,040 ~ NT$ 2,266/credit

Dormitory: NT$ 8,350 ~ NT$ 22,150/semester

 

Graduate students

Tuition fee: NT$ 12,910 ~ NT$ 29,980/semester

Credit fee: NT$ 3,310 ~ NT$ 8,000/credit

Dormitory: NT$ 11,150 ~ NT$ 33,150/semester

Dorm deposit: NT$ 1,000/academic year

* The costs above are international students’ tuition fees per semester.

* Undergraduate students do not need to pay credit fees (except for those special fee-paying courses) but they have to pay tuition fees.

* Graduate students pay credit fees in addition to tuition fees. The total of credits is based on the minimum graduation credit requirement from each program.

NCCU offers variety of scholarship for degree-seeking students.

New Inbound International Students Scholarship Pilot Plan

  • Eligible Applicant: Newly admitted international students who are not awarded with other scholarship
  • Applicable Degree and Duration: Bachelor (4 Years), Master (2 Years), Ph.D. (4 Years)
  • Award Coverage:
    • Full scholarship: Tuition waiver and a living allowance of NT$ 150,000 per academic year, living allowance is remitted by the college monthly
    • Half scholarship: Tuition waiver

New International Student Scholarship

  • Eligible Applicant: Newly admitted international students who are not awarded with other scholarship
  • Applicable Degree: Bachelor, Master, Ph.D.
  • Award Duration: 1 semester
  • Award Amount: Bachelor NT$60,000, Master NT$80,000, Ph.D. NT$100,000
  • Notes: Award recipients shall receive the scholarship award by remittance in two equal installments during the semester of enrollment

Tuition Waiver

  • Eligible Applicant: Newly admitted international students who are not awarded with other scholarship
  • Applicable Degree and Duration: Bachelor (4 Years), Master (2 Years), Ph.D. (3 Years)
  • Award Coverage and Quota:
    • Bachelor full waiver: 5 students; Bachelor half waiver: 5 students
    • Master full waiver: 10 students; Master half waiver 5 students
    • Ph.D. full waiver: 12 students
  • How to Apply: Recommended by the departments or programs to OIC during application evaluation each year

Academic Excellence Scholarship

  • Eligible Applicant: Current degree students who have been enrolled at NCCU for more than one semester may apply. A transcript of the previous semester will be required upon applying. Those who have received other full scholarships are excluded.
  • Applicable Degree: Bachelor, Master, Ph.D.
  • Award Amount: Bachelor NT$40,000, Master and Ph.D NT$50,000
  • How to Apply: Students can apply to the Office of International Cooperation (OIC) in September and late February each year (the actual date is subject to the announcement from OIC)

Government Scholarships for Indonesian Students

MOE Taiwan Scholarship

  • Applicable Degree and Duration: Bachelor (4 Years), Master (2 Years), Ph.D. (4 Years)
  • Award Coverage:
    • Bachelor: Stipend NT$15,000/month, Tuition reimbursement per semester NT$40,000, if the tuition exceeds NT$40,000, the remainder of all costs shall be covered by the recipient.
    • Master, Ph.D.: Stipend NT$20,000/month, Tuition reimbursement /per semester:
    • Recipients who enrolled at IMBA and MBA: the cap on tuition waiver is NT$40,000 per semester, if the tuition exceeds NT$40,000, the remainder of all costs shall be paid by the recipients
    • Recipients who enrolled at departments other than IMBA and MBA: Tuition waiver
    • According to the letter of request of IMAS approved on March 17, 2020, the tuition of MOE Taiwan Scholarship students enrolled at IMAS will be covered by MOE and IMAS from the spring 2020 semester

Taiwan ICDF Higher Education Scholarship Programs

  • Eligible Applicant: ONLY applicable for the programs participating Taiwan ICDF scholarship programs: IUP in BA, IMBA and IMPIS
  • Applicable Degree and Duration: Bachelor (4 Years), Master (2 Years), Ph.D. (4 Years)

  • Notes: ONLY applicable for those from certain countries. Must be applied via Taiwan Representative Office in the applicant’s home country.

Elite Scholarship Program

  • Eligible Applicant: Scholarship applicants shall currently occupy a formal lecturer position at a public or private college or university in Southeast or South Asia/Africa. Nationals of the Republic of China and overseas Chinese citizens are not eligible.
    Candidates who meet one of the following conditions are disqualified from the scholarship application process:
    1. Individuals are not eligible to apply in case they are currently enrolled in a college or university in Taiwan, or are presently deferring their studies in such an educational institution. Excluded from this regulation are recent or soon-to-be graduates from Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, who are applying for a higher degree.
    2. Candidates that intend to enroll in a program at the same level of degree that he/she has already acquired at an educational institution in Taiwan previously. 
    3. Current exchange students or students with a double (joint) degree through an academic cooperation between a foreign educational institution and a college or university in Taiwan are not permitted to apply.
    4. Applicants are not allowed to receive any other scholarship funds or subsidies from a governmental agency or institution of the Republic of China during their studies.
  • Applicable Degree and Duration: Master (2 Years), Ph.D. (3 Years)
    (The maximum duration of 3 years of sponsorship through this program is not to be exceeded. Thus, a student who has previously acquired a two-years Master’s degree under the Elite Scholarship Program would only be eligible to receive another year of financial support for his/her Ph.D. degree)
  • Award Coverage and Quota:
    Tuition Waiver and Monthly Stipend (Depends on funding availability). Scholarship quota is to be announced and regulated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan)
  • How to Apply:
    Recommended by the departments or programs to OIC. Scholarship applicant should submit the following two documents:
    1. Proof of employment in the aforementioned position
