Established in central Taiwan in 1995, NCNU is tasked with both securing the inheritance of classical Chinese culture and cultivating a new generation of global-minded professionals.
Currently NCNU has 5 colleges, including the colleges of humanities, management, science and technology, education, and Shui Sha Lien. With the 20 task units comprising nearly 700 faculty members, we aim to transform NCNU into central Taiwan’s foremost cradle of humanistic, insightful, and passion-driven research and education. An average of 6,500 students enroll each year to pursue degrees from a selection of 20 undergraduate, 26 postgraduate, and 15 doctoral programs.
NCNU hold the 3 most unique department and discipline in Taiwan- Department of Southeast Asian Studies, Department of Comparative Education and Department of Educational Policy and Administration. 3 departments are the enlightens of NCNU’s quality education, international engagement and talents entrepreneur.
Sister to 130 overseas and 44 Chinese academic institutes, NCNU hosts an average of 600 international students every year who come to study from its 160 language courses. NCNU also has one of the most comprehensive programs for training talents for the Southeast Asian markets.
We have been nurturing ties with local communities through education programs fostering tourism and culturally creative talents. Outreach centers have also been set up to care for disadvantaged children and indigenous elders.
With close access to the waters and trainers of Taiwan’s famed Sun-Moon Lake, NCNU is home to collegial teams competing in rowing, archery, yachting, golfing, and ballroom dancing. Team spirit is bolstered by a high degree of sportsmanship and medals from recent international sporting events.
