冬至節 （dōngzhì jié）or The Winter Solstice Festival is one of the important festivals for Taiwanese. The festival is held between December 21, 22, or 23. In 2021, the Dongzhi Festival will be on December 21, 2021.

The usual activity during the Dongzhi Festival is to go to pray to the ancestors and gather with family while eating 湯圓 (tāngyuán which is a kind of round cake made of glutinous rice flour or in Indonesia commonly called ronde.
