Mandarin Level Descriptors (A1)
•To acquire basic Mandarin vocabulary and become familiar with methods of daily expressions (e.g.: greetings, introductions, interests, and numbers).

Mandarin Course Content
 
A1
•Course Aim: This course is designed to assist learners in experiencing the joy of interacting with others using Mandarin when studying in Taiwan.
•Course Content: The application of basic conversations in various aspects of daily life, such as those related to; clothing, food, housing, transportation, and recreation. For instance, learn to use Mandarin to introduce yourself, family, interests, shopping, street food, position, location, and time, transportation, and the appearance of people or objects.
•Learning Activities: Conversations, grammar explanations, exercises, classroom activities, cultural introductions and events.
 
A2
•Course Aim: This course is designed to assist learners in gaining a better understanding of Taiwan. 
•Course Content: Aside from more difficult conversations, the course also includes reading short articles. Themes focus on topics that apply to daily life. For example: how to use Mandarin to express the desire of becoming an oversea student studying in Taiwan, travelling via ride the high-speed railway and MRT, and describing experiences in part-time jobs. Also, the course will introduce cultural aspects such as festivals, holidays, activities, and wedding banquets.
•Learning Activities: Conversations, grammar explanations, exercises, classroom activities, cultural introductions and events.
