Asia Univ. (AU) launched its annual 2020 Summer Program, starting from July 6th until August 25th, 2020. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the regular in-person summer class was replaced by online delivery, both synchronous and asynchronous. This year AU offered 7 courses for this purpose, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Web Design, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, FinTech, Taiwan Economy and Culture, Community Care Practice in Taiwan and Language & Culture. In total some 927 overseas students participated virtually from 36 universities and 15 high schools in 12 countries. NUS, Singapore, WSU, Australia, CUHK, Hong Kong, Nagasaki U., Japan, Ajou U., Korea, and other AU overseas partners nominated their students for the program.
But, the number of students from Indonesian universities and high schools alone is 664, more than two thirds of the participating student body, a sure sign of AU’s excellent relationship with Indonesia counterparts. Indonesian students mainly come from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Universitas Negeri Jakarta(UNJ), PPM School of Management and Universitas Esa Unggul, etc.
