The first speaker is L. Tri Wijaya, Ph.D. CBOA, lecture at Universitas Brawijaya, alumni National Central University Taiwan. He shared his study experiences in Taiwan. He said that he got full support from his Professor to pursue his interest research topic instead of following what was offered to him at that time. As a Muslim, he shared how supportive and respectful his Professors and colleagues are regarding the religious activity. Besides focusing on his academic life, he was also chosen as the president for the 2017-2018 period of the Indonesian Students’ Association in Taiwan (PPI Taiwan). He also shared his point of view on how we can contribute to Indonesia. He stated that we need to have a rare research topic that has not been studied much in Indonesia or has not been developed. Thus, we need to be the expert and lead on that topic to fill the gap in Indonesia. The second speaker is Brilliant Adhi Prabowo, M.Eng., Ph.D., a researcher in National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Alumni of Asia University, and Chang Gung University. He said that “Teachers open the door, you enter by yourself,” and until now, he still has a good relationship with his professors. By his networking, he can still develop a concept for and in Indonesia but have it tested in Taiwan because of the lack of resources in Indonesia. This way, he can enhance and contribute to Indonesia in the field he masters. Both speakers agreed on how supportive their Professors and colleagues are. The way to contribute to Indonesia is by being the expert in a field that has not been much developed in Indonesia and filling that gap.
